Daniel Schilberg

 

took up the position as Managing Director of the Institute of Information Management in Mechanical Engineering (IMA) at the RWTH Aachen University in February 2011. Prior to that, from March 2005 to December 2009, he was a researcher at the IMA. In the period between January 2010 and March 2011 he was the manager of the Computational Engineering division.
In 2005, he graduated as Diplom-Ingenieur (equivalent to Master of Engineering) in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Aerospace Engineering, at the RWTH Aachen University. In December 2009, he passed his doctoral examination as Doctor of Engineering with a distinction. In March 2010 he received the Young Researcher Award of the Cluster of Excellence 'Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries', which is funded by the DFG. Furthermore, he was a lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the RWTH Aachen University for the compulsory Bachelor course on Computer Science in Mechanical Engineering for the degree courses of Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and Management specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
The focuses of his research lie in the fields of traffic and mobility, production technology, robotics and eHealth.
