Tilde Bekker

 

is an Associate Professor in the Industrial Design department at the Eindhoven University of Technology. She has a Master degree and a PhD in Industrial Design (Delft University of Technology).
Her research interests include the development of user-centered design tools and methods, designing for playful interaction, and designing products for children and older adults. She leads and participates in research projects on playful interactions that examine how to persuade people to a healthier lifestyle. She has over 90 publications in international, peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and she is co-founder of the Interaction Design and children conference series.
She is currently participating in the national Raakpro project `Playfit' (2010- 2014) that examines how to motivate youngsters to be physically active, the Intelligent Play Environment (I-PE) project (2011-2015), the European M4all project (2013-2014) on Kinect games for children with special needs and the European Pro-fit (2011-2015) project on field-labs for sports innovation.
