Arturo Mena-Lorca

 

Is a researcher in the Mathematics Institute of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile, and the chairperson of the Mathematics team in the Curriculum and Evaluation Unit at the Ministry of Education in Chile. His research deals with the teaching of Abstract Algebra and with Epistemology in Didactics of Mathematics as a discipline. He led the Doctorate program in Didactics of Mathematics at the Institute since its beginning and has been involved in Lesson Study research as a professional development strategy for Chilean teachers, in collaboration with CRICED at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, for the last ten years.
