Pierpaolo Vittorini

is a senior researcher of the Dep. of Life, Health and Environmental Sciences of the University of L'Aquila . After his academic degree in Electronic Engineering, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in computer science and a master's degree in management of health systems. He published more than 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international and national conferences. His research interests range from data models for bio-medical sciences, computational epidemiology, XML databases and artificial intelligence. He is also referee of  international journals and part of steering/scientific committees of international conferences. He was the Project Coordinator of the FP7 TERENCE project (TERENCE, 2010).
