Cristiano Castelfranchi
is ISTC Director, former Head of the Division of AI, Cognitive and Interaction Modelling, and of the Division of Social Psychology at the Psychology Institute of CNR.
Cognitive scientist, with a background in linguistics and psychology, in addition to his research activity, he has been teaching Artificial Intelligence Theories and Systems and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Siena.
Active in both the Multi-Agent Systems, the social simulation, and the cognitive science communities. Chair of several international workshops in these fields and advisory member of several international conferences; participating in a number of research networks under the European Fourth Framework.
He has published 3 books in English and 7 books in Italian, more than 200 conference and journal articles on cognitive, computational and formal-theoretical models of social interaction and social mind.
