Since 1993 researcher in the Cognitive and Communication Technologies Division at ITC-irst now Bruno Kessler Foundation. Since 2008 in charge of the i3 Research Unit.
The main research interest is on the study of technologies that facilitate human communication and human-computer interaction. Initially, he focussed mainly on the field of intelligent interfaces and in particular language-based interfaces. Later, he specialized in the application of IT in the domain of cultural heritage with a particular focus the design issues related to mobile audio-based hypermedia. Recently, He becames interested in the areas of co-located collaborative interfaces and multimodal systems for behavioral analysis.
